Unitised SA wheels

Standard Abrasives Unitised wheels consist of different fibres of synthetic impregnated nylon fibres, ingeniously bonded together and hot-pressed into solid sheets with a controlled density.  The various grades are made at the appropriate density for each grade to ensure optimum performance.  The finer grades of unitised material are generally more flexible which aids in consistent finishing without any risk of undercutting a surface.

Properties:

Long life - increased productivity
Angle-proof - versatile use
Open web structure - prevents clogging of material
Iron-free abrasives - no contamination of the work piece
Leaves no residue - uniform, perfect finish
Adapts to work piece - prevents damage
Can turn in both directions - easy to assemble
Cooler grinding - no scorch marks

Applications:

Polishing - When using Unitised SAG wheels for preliminary grinding, several steps can be omitted and the item is ready for final polish
Weld Discolouration Removal - Removes coloured haze and deeper burn marks on metal due to heat during the weld process
Smoothes, de- burrs and rounds off angles - Burrs caused by cutting are removed. Angles and edges are rounded. Drilled, punched and milled openings are smoothed.
TIG weld removal removal - Welds removed easily
Abrasion fault correction and scratch removal - Scratches on metal and grinding faults easily removed
Paint, coatings and rust removal - No damage or change in geometry of the work-piece when removing rust, oxidisation, paint or glue and surfaces are left looking new again.
Surface roughness (Ra) control - Unitised material can be used when a precise degree of surface roughness is required, for example in food and pharmaceutical industries

Range:

Unitized wheels for the Finit-Easy
SAG discs with fibre glass backing
SAGR grip discs
Quick change
Unitized wheels with centre hole
Unitized wheels on a 6mm spindle

Grades:

Unitized wheels are available in grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10
With the increasing number the aggression increases and the flexibility decreases
Grade 5    Light deburring, scratch removal and fine finish (finer than 400 grit)
Grade 6    Deburring, aluminium tig weld removal
Grade 7    Light tig weld removal, deburring of laser cut edges, Deburring and radiussing of Inconel.
Grade 8    Deburring and pre-finishing.  Tig weld removal
Grade 10   Heavier weld removal, deburring (finish approx. 180 grit)

Unitised Discs
For Angle Grinders, Variable Speed grinders and Air Tools

When used in disc format unitised discs are most commonly used for removing marks, deburring and polishing.  With unitised products premium performance comes with optimum speed settings.  Unitised discs are most commonly available in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8.

SAG Unitised Discs

Designed for use in an angle grinder format the SAG disc.  SAG is most commonly used in grade 5 for damage removal and creating a fine consistent polished (not mirror) finish.
SAG is available in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Available diameters 115 and 125mm.
Abrasives- SAGR, velcro grip backed unitized polishing discs
SAGR Velcro Grip Discs

The newest addition to the unitised disc range.  The grip fixing allows the SAGR discs to be used almost flat to the surface and when used in sequence with PV101 and PV102 polishing soap allow the user to create a high quality mirror polished finish.
SAGR is available in grades 5, 6 and 7.
Available in 115 and 125mm diameters
Abrasives- Socatt quick change unitised discs
SA+  Quick Change Discs

Unitised quick change discs are available in both a Socatt (see pic) and a Lockit (plastic thread) fixing.
Quick change discs are used primarily in high quality sheet metal fabrication applications or in aero engine refurbishment where the whole series of grades are used for deburring, cleaning and finishing applications.
Quick Change discs are available in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Available in 50 and 75mm diameters.
