New Trizact™ Discs Grind and Finish Welds Truly Flat

Mach 2008 saw the launch of the new Trizact™ finishing discs from Abrasive Finishing Systems.  “Interest at the show was amazing”, said Barry Crompton, Managing Director of AFS.  “Normally we demonstrate new products at the show and take orders afterwards.  After we had demonstrated the new Trizact™ discs taking out Tig welds and leaving such a flat and fine finish, people were insisting on taking the new sample kits away.  Immediately.  And feedback since the show has been just as good.  One metal fabricator from Scotland summed up the new product in typically direct fashion that the Trizact™ discs are ‘seriously bloody useful!’ ”

Trizact™ abrasive finishing discs are available in 115mm diameter and are designed for use on high torque variable speed grinders such as the new Cibo Finipower.  Good quality Tig welds can be ground flat with the A160 disc and a 400 grit abrasive finish can then be created by using the A45 Trizact disc.  This leaves a finish fine enough to put a soft Tex / Scotchbrite brush finish directly onto the steel leaving no grinding marks behind.

Many people may already be aware of how good a finish Trizact™ can achieve in belt format but to date it has not been readily available in discs.  To introduce the new Trizact™ discs AFS have produced a simple kit with the right back up pad and discs to enable Tig welds to be ground flat and a satin finish restored in just 3 steps.
