Cloth Backed Abrasive Grits Sizes: Cloth backed abrasives are available in a wide range of grit sizes, from 16 to 400 depending upon your application.
Cloth Backed Abrasive Grit Materials: Various abrasive materials are available with a cloth backing, these include Aluminium Oxide, Trizact™, Ceramic and Micro Mesh
Cloth Backed Abrasives Additives and Coolants: Cloth abrasives may be used dry or with coolants.
The use of coolants will facilitate the removal of film and swarf from the workpiece and aid in improving the quality of finish achieved. Greases and oils are best used with our full resin bonded cloth products. Water based coolants should only be used with polyester backed belts or with cloth belts that are specified as waterproof.
Many cloth products will contain their own specific additives including mineral oils, plasticizers, coolants or other grinding aids; they are normally designed with a specific application in mind. However almost all additives will have the ability to reduce heat and to clean the surface of the work piece. Within our range are products designed specifically to meet the demands created by modern manufacturing processes in stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and other ferrous and non ferrous metals.
