These backings have a fundamental impact on the performance and therefore the relevant application for each material.

Paper Weight: From flexible A weight papers through to heavy duty machine quality F weight backings
Backing Types: In addition to plain, film backed and waterproof backed paper products a range of self adhesive and grip (Velcro type) abrasives are available for quick release attachment
Abrasive Minerals: Paper products are available from super coarse 16 grit through 2500 grit waterproof papers. A range of technically advanced minerals include some of the more common aluminium oxide minerals plus, silicon carbide and alumina zirconia blended minerals. |

Nonwoven / Tex Products | |

Cloth Weight: Nonwoven materials are a highly flexible product which contains the abrasive mineral.
Backing types: Although nonwoven materials can be used without a backing, where it is beneficial we also laminate nonwoven products to both grip and cloth backings to give additional performance characteristics.
Abrasive Minerals: Nonwoven products are available from 80 grit (Coarse) through to 1000 grit (Ultra Fine) and are available in both aluminium oxide and silicon carbide minerals. |
